Each September is National Preparedness Month, a time to ensure families and communities are ready for any emergency. It is also a time to recognize those who provide the first line of defense in so many crises — first responders.
In the past year, the world faced unprecedented challenges. In the United States alone, the 2020 hurricane season was the most active on record, many states experienced historic drought and dangerous heat waves, and wildfires again challenged the West.
